DLWS Kauai – Hanalei Bay
Destination for day 2’s morning shoot was Hanalei Bay; near Princeville. As usual, weather was completely unpredictable – we drove through rain, clear sky, then down pour all within 30 minutes or so. Luckily the rain stopped when we arrived at the beach.
Water at Hanalei is relatively calm compared to the coast. Which makes it a good location for various water sports.
About an hour into our morning shoot, the rain caught up with us. I ducked underneath the pier and found a very interesting view. That reminded me to always look at things from different perspectives; else you will end up with the exact same point of view as the rest of the world.
We had a special guest that morning – Pualani is a Polynesian dancer who volunteered to be our portrait model. She had a wonderful and refreshing smile. Too bad I didn’t have my lighting gear with me.
